Coloured Smoke Pictures

What can I say.. smoke photography is quite addictive. Using the 'mirroring' technique, I've created the below images, and this time used some digital crayolas to add some colour. Non-destructive with hue & saturation adjustment layers & masks, so I can always go back and change colours if I feel like it..

I've named the first one the Alien Boss, and the second one Scary Smoke.. One person told me the first looks like some strange totem pole, and someone else told me the second one is the X-ray that proves Predator's existense. That's one of the fun parts of this: everybody can see something slightly (or totally) different.. what do you see in my pictures?

Fun with Butterflies

The Botanical Gardens in Montreal have an exposition on butterflies at the moment, called Butterflies go free, which I went to see today.. Although there are hundreds of butterflies flying around in the greenhouse, it's not the ideal circumstances to take pictures, with tons of people bumping into you as you're standing in line from entrance to exit. Oh well, it was to be expected on a Sunday morning.. Still a very nice experience. The high key image is of a butterfly that landed on my leg. This gave me a chance of being a bit creative, as it would just move with me when people pressed me to move on.. I used my flash to wash away most of the colours (as my pants didn't match the butterfly's colours :)
